We stayed only for a couple of nights but were blown away by the stunning food, magnificent view and the peace of the location. We had a couple of treatments whilst we were there (the dead sea bath and scrub being the highlight). Maisy took such good care of us - she was professional, kind, relaxed and really made our stay special.

We visited Fountainhead as 4 couples and took over the place for the weekend. It suited us really well as we were able to get together for extended meals and drinks on the terrace, but also relax in the sun back at our suites. The pools were very welcome as it was so hot and there were nice touches like the stocked fridge, and sun-hats! Ambrose was a great host, who organised our transfers to/from Malaga and made lovely cocktails. The food produced by his mum and sister in the restaurant was really special and delicious, and the views from the dining room were something else. We would definitely recommend staying at Fountainhead to rest, re-charge and re-connect with friends!

We’ve been staying in the Axarquia region several times a year for over 20 years and had never been here before. We wanted somewhere special though to have a luxurious overnight stay and memorable meal to celebrate Jenny’s birthday, and by goodness that’s what we got. Fountainhead only has 4 individual rooms or rather extensive suites, but they’re genuinely amazing with completely different styles and colour schemes. What they all have in common is really good taste, and ample evidence of true care and thought that’s gone into every last detail of the rooms. There’s no breakfast in the dining room - but that’s because fresh bread and croissants are brought to each room every morning so you can compose your own morning feast. There’s no shared pool / because each room has its own tiny plunge pool. There is a very fine restaurant for evening meals, and the food there is to die for, and there’s also a delightful outside terrace amongst the olive trees for those pre- dinner drinks too - looking out onto impressive Mountain View’s. There’s even a small private yoga studio on the steep hillside below the rooms, with equally dramatic views. And the service is discreet but friendly, and impeccable. This is a remarkable and unique place, and worth the high price for a genuinely unforgettable experience.

This place is absolute perfection, we attended for my partners birthday and from the moment we stepped foot inside we were made to feel special. The food was amazing from start to finish presented in an amazing way and the tasted were amazing, the service was impeccable. Ambrose hosted us for the night he was amazing, we had the whole place to ourselves which made it even more special and nothing was too much trouble, even a birthday cake was made 🙂 We would highly recommend a visit, so much so we are going back next week.

You just have to love this place, complete seclusion from the rest of the world. Just after a couple of nights - this time in Arizona. This suite offers a greater panoramic view of the gorge as its on the end. These suites are very well stocked with all you need to survive but I suggest a few drinks and snacks with you incase. Then in the evening you all head to the restaurant where Helen Bartlett is let loose in the kitchen and what a fabulous job she does. | Waited on by Ambrose, nothing is so much trouble. Helped by his sister Maisie - what a team. | For sure there is a rustic feel of the place, but this adds to the charm. The winter nights here are fantastic but you do need to tend the fire yourselves, the summer nights can get quite warm but the air con and fans help. The dip pool on each terrace is at a fantastic temperature to break up a hot afternoon of total relaxation. | Did I mention the wine list? Well I should have. And all very well priced. | All in all an incredible stay, loved meeting Ambrose and Maisie and we were blown away by Helen’s cooking. What a family and what a place. See you all again soon

Stayed here for 3 nights and have to say it was simply remarkable. Peace, relaxation and great food and wine. We were in the Arizona Suite and the views of the surrounding hillsides was just amazing not to mention the eagles soaring in the valley. Was very well looked after by Ambrose and the food and drink in the restaurant was excellent. Will definitely come back to Fountainhead and highly recommend to anyone looking for some real R&R away from it all. Magical.

This holiday was exactly what we hoped it would be: a real detox and blissful relaxation. The hosts give you privacy, but also fantastic service when required. Ambrose was so helpful and his hospitality really made our stay fantastic. The food and cocktails were also incredible. A week of peace and tranquility... thank you Fountainhead!

I stayed in a suite called Oriental which was designed accordingly. The attention to detail went far beyond what you would find even in a Four Seasons resort, but this Spanish finca does not try to compete directly the the luxury hotel brands. it relies on its charm, the personal touches of service and design which exist in a class of their own. The food complements its somewhat rustic style but the menu and the wine list reflects the very same attention to detail.
